Hello! My name is Hunter Birk and I’m currently enrolled in the Health Services Administration Program at Santa Fe College. I am driven to contribute effectively with any team, delivering results that elevate any organization, in addition to my own professional journey. My goal upon graduation is to work in a hospice-related healthcare company.

How to Edit
As I began brainstorming ideas for my portfolio, I wanted to design my site to have a color palette that is a mix of modern, sleek tones, keeping things in balance so that it is cleaner to the eye and more comfortable for the user’s brain. I view websites and e-portfolios as electronic business cards, and I wanted my e-portfolio/website to reflect my professionalism and attention to detail.

My Skill Set
During the process of forming my portfolio, I expanded and reorganized my résumé, and upon doing so, I realized that the quantity of both hard and soft skills I possessed was much more expansive than I originally thought. Once I laid it out in front of me, it was rewarding to realize how many different skill sets I had obtained over the course of my college career.

Online Presence
While social media apps such as Instagram and X are a staple for many for their "internet presence," it is equally important to have a "professional" internet presence. Websites such as LinkedIn and Jobcase are both great options to display your accolades and achievements for potential job prospects. However, in order to stand out amongst others, you must develop your own website and/or e-portfolio.
According to the personality framework website, “16 Personalities," I am described as having an “architect-like” personality. Based on the description on the website, those with an architect personality are “imaginative and strategic thinkers with a plan for everything.” Upon reflection, I find this description to be accurate, as I always try my best to be one step ahead for every situation, and if something doesn’t go according to plan, I am able to reassess situations and act accordingly at a rapid pace. I believe this attribute will bode well for me in a healthcare setting, as healthcare is a constantly evolving industry and having the ability to make timely decisions in a stressful environment is extremely important.

Graduate
My top priority as I approach my final year of college is to improve my grades in order to graduate with honors and to have a GPA that reflects my hard work. I am looking forward to implementing the skills I acquired from my time at Santa Fe College into my future career.
VITAS Healthcare
As a result of the interview process for interviewing a Healthcare Administrator, I received a job offer as a Junior Sales Representative for VITAS Healthcare in Gainesville, Florida.
The Future
VITAS Healthcare is an excellent option for starting my career. However, I will continue to develop the necessary skills to make me an attractive candidate for other job prospects. As a licensed Realtor, working in real estate has allowed me to further develop my social skills by forming interpersonal relationships between myself and customers, a necessary attribute to have in a healthcare-related setting.
My Résumé
Upon receiving feedback on my résumé, I have made improvements to the following:
1.) Swapped the positioning of the “Skills” and “Education” sections, in order to draw more attention to the latter.
2.) Removed aspects of the “Skills” section, more specifically, the “Follow-Up Skills” and “Meeting Coordination” subsections.
3.) Moved the website links to the bottom of the résumé and added a heading above to give context.
